Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. This helps the BBQ sauce adhere better and promotes crispiness.
- Arrange the drumsticks on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each piece for even cooking.
- Brush each drumstick generously with BBQ sauce, coating all sides evenly.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then remove from oven and brush with additional BBQ sauce. Return to oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2-3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute.
Notes
Choose the right BBQ sauce for desired flavor (honey-based for sweeter, vinegar-based for tangier). Don't overcrowd the pan for even cooking. Use meat thermometer to ensure 165°F internal temperature. Double coating of BBQ sauce creates thicker, more flavorful glaze.
