Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ pounds ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1 small onion, finely minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Burger buns and your favorite toppings

Method

Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, minced onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined - be careful not to overmix as this can make the burgers tough.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Gently shape each portion into a patty about ¾-inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indentation in the center of each patty - this helps them cook evenly and prevents them from puffing up.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F. For grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high and cook for the same time, flipping once.
  4. Toast your burger buns lightly, then assemble with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion, and condiments. Serve immediately while hot and juicy!

Notes

Don't overmix the meat, chill patties for 30 minutes before cooking, use thumb indentation to prevent bulging, don't press patties while cooking, let rest 2-3 minutes after cooking to redistribute juices.
