Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 12 oz pasta (penne, bowtie, or your favorite shape)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method

Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Add chicken broth to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until smooth. Return chicken to the skillet along with the cooked pasta. Toss everything together until well coated.
  5. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through. Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

For optimal garlic flavor, mince the garlic finely rather than using a press. Adjust smoked paprika amount to preference - start with 1/2 teaspoon for milder flavor. If sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of pasta water to thin it.
